Consumer vs. Creator

  • 1 min read

We are all Consumers:

  • Necessities: Food, Shelter, Clothing, Transportation
  • Luxuries: More or Better versions of Necessities
  • Materials: Things we may not need, but make us (want to) feel a certain way
  • Content:  Useful information or pure entertainment

As we move up the hierarchy of needs, we want better and more things, look for opportunities to be better versions of ourselves.
In worlds of surplus, we enjoy comfort, convenience and options.  The modern engine of consumerism constantly “notifies” you about missing out on deals and news, instead of helping you generate value and purpose.

We can all be Creators:

  • Solutions: Products and services that help people solve problems
  • Tools and Knowledge: Ways to get us (10x, 100x) better at what we do
  • Connections: Relationships that make us truly human
  • Opportunities for Others: projects, jobs, mentorship

What are you doing with your Money, Time, Energy and Superpowers?
